1. What is VanDyke?

VanDyke is a secure file server provided by UNH IT. UNH Policy requires that legally protected data, such as Protected Health Information and HIPPA data be stored here.

2. How do I get access to VanDyke?

Contact Information Security Services (ISS) here: https://itsupport.unh.edu/itsec/

3. How do I access files on the VanDyke Server?

You access them just as you access files on the IOD file server. IOD IT can configure your computer for you.

4. What other steps should I take to secure my data?

If you are regularly working with sensitive data, it is recommended that you install SOHPOS SafeGuard Encryption to protect all of your data. Please submit a ticket to the IOD Help Desk to have this done.

5. Where can I get more information?

For more information on protected data and data security classifications, please see this UNH KB Article: https://www.unh.edu/it/enterprise-collaboration-and-messaging/data-classification
