How to join a zoom meeting from computer AND phone
Posted by on 05 October 2015 12:40 PM

In some instances, you may need to join a Zoom meeting from both your computer and your phone. This might occur if you do not have a microphone on your computer but still need to view interactive content in the meeting, such as a shared desktop.

IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU WILL BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE MEETING AND YOUR AUDIO WILL NOT WORK, OR YOU WILL GET FEEDBACK/ECHOS.

Step 1: Join from your computer

1.1: Join the meeting from your computer. You can do this by clicking the Join from PC, Mac, iOS or Android: link in your meeting email invite (if you received one), or by visiting http://zoom.us/join and entering the meeting ID.

Step 2: Select Join by Phone on your computer.

2.1: After you join the meeting, Zoom should ask you how you want to join the audio conference.

Tip: If Zoom does not ask how you want to join the audio conference, place your mouse over the Zoom meeting window and in the lower left-hand corner, select Join Audio or select the ^ button next to "mute" or "Join Audio", and select Audio Options...

2.2: Select the Join by Phone tab, dial either of the numbers listed, enter your meeting ID into your phone's keypad, enter your participant ID, and hit #. The How do you want to join the audio conference? window should automatically close, and you should hear the Zoom meeting audio through your telephone set.

Toubleshooting

If you are already connected to the meeting using both your computer audio and the telephone audio, select the Audio Options... menu option from the lower left-hand corner of the Zoom meeting, select the Join by Phone tab, and press #, followed by your participant ID, followed by # on your telephone's keypad.
